Born in November 1990, singer, songwriter and musician, Matthew John Corby grew up in the Sutherland Shire, Sydney. From the age of 6 he was playing guitar, learnt Piano (by ear) and began to sing.

With his parents blessing, at age 14, Matt toured Australia with the 'hip hop' band Iron and Clay. The band's goal was to reach out to high school kids, connecting through their music and tackling some of the relevant issues facing today's youth. Being on the road for 15 months with a professional band saw Matt's talent develop rapidly.

Matt finished touring in late 2006 and in 2007 reluctantly returned to school. Music was his one, true love and Matt felt that school was delaying the inevitable. In May, 2007 Matt woke up on the morning of the Sydney auditions and made a 'spur of the moment' decision to audition for season 5 of Australian Idol. His amazing talents both vocally and musically saw Matt make it all the way to final two culminating with Sydney Opera House grand final. The Idol experience gained Matt a sizable fan base impressing his fans with his left-of-centre song choices, natural charisma and sense of style.

In January 2008 Matt embarked on a national tour with 2007 Idol winner Natalie Gauci on the Winners Journey Tour. Matt was supported on stage by band 'Fatis Valour' headed by his good mate Jarryd Klapper, a fellow 'Iron and Clay' band member. The tour visited national cities and major regional centres throughout Australia.

In February 2008 Matt debuted 3 original, acoustic tracks at the Brass Monkey, Cronulla, Sydney, while playing as a support act for Ian Moss.

In March 2008, Matt will be one of the headline acts at Easterfest, in Toowoomba, Qld. This is a major, 3 day, annual Christian music festival.

Currently Matt is busy writing and recording an independent E.P. The release date is not confirmed at this stage.
